A Perth dad and his little boy have been forced to run from their burning home as flames spread from nearby cars to their house.
Security cameras captured the moment the father and his three-year-old son escaped the burning East Cannington home around 4.30am on Saturday.
Luckily the man’s pregnant partner was not inside the home at the time – she is already in hospital due to give birth soon.
“The paramedics were here just consulting the father and child from the second house that was burning,” neighbour Raisha Maharjan said.
“It was nice to see they were all fine.”
The flames were so intense during the ordeal that six cars were melted in the fire.
The blaze is believed to have started outside the unit complex on Russell Street, as neighbours reported hearing explosions.
The landlord has organised some temporary accommodation for the family.
A police spokesperson confirmed the damage bill is estimated at $100,000.
Police believe the fire was deliberately lit and are now hunting those responsible.
