WESTERN AUSTRALIA Australia could make Lotto history after one of the biggest jackpots of the year is drawn tonight.
About 500,000 West Australians are expected to vie for the huge $60 million jackpot, which skyrocketed after no one matched all the winning numbers last week.
If one person from WA wins the entire division one jackpot, they will be the richest WA Lotto winner in history, surpassing a $50 million winner from a 2015 draw.
In August, the jackpot reached $80 million and then rolled over to $100 million but West Australian players missed out on the big bucks, with the jackpot being shared between two winners in New South Wales and Victoria.
WA also missed out on a $70 million Oz Lotto jackpot the same month, which was also shared between players in New South Wales and Victoria.
Seven numbers and a powerball need to be matched to scoop the jackpot and some numbers find themselves pumped through the machine much more often than others.
The number 32 is the luckiest number and has been drawn 12 times this year, while 25 has been drawn nine times.
The unluckiest number is 12, which has been drawn just twice while 26 and 11 have only been drawn three times each.
So far this year, 44 West Aussies have won division one Lotto prizes, sharing in almost $95 million.
Tickets for tonight’s $60 million Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm from Lotterywest in-store, online or through the app.
